I am thrilled that Haven by the Berardi/Foran/Karlen Trio is out now! This album features special guest vibraphone player Pascal Schumacher from Luxembourg joining Kristin Berardi, Sean Foran and I, and is on the Earshift Music label
We also printed a limited run of score books which look amazing. Albums and books can be found here and on the Earshift Wesbsite and Bandcamp Thanks again to the Pozible supporters who helped to contribute to this album.
This album has taken a while to bring out into the world but we are very happy to finally share it with everyone. Lots of love has gone into it and we were fortunate to have had these incredible people involved in the process: Recorded in Brisbane by Mark Smith, mixed in Stockholm by Stefan Glaumann, mastered in England by Shawn Joseph, photography and video by Mish Photography, Earshift Music, and album, promo and book design by Sai Karlen.
I was very much looking forward to performing my music with the amazing Andrea Keller on piano with a string quartet at the Melbourne Recital Centre Jazz in the Salon Series in October but this show has unfortunately just been canceled. Total bummer.
I'm thinking of all our colleagues and friends in Melbourne during this time. I hope to hear and make music there are again soon.
This album has been some time in the making... We flew the outstanding European vibraphone player and composer Pascal Schumacher out for a recording and performances at the Brisbane and Melbourne International Jazz Festivals a few years ago and are about to release the album HAVEN! It will be released on Earshift Music and features lovely artwork by Sai Karlen and was mixed in Sweden by the amazing Stefan Glaumann.
This Pozible project is the final part in getting it all to come together. It's something quite special for us and features a new suite of beautiful music...
Please have a look at our campaign, it would be really great to have your support!
Thanks Pascal Schumacher, Kristin Berardi, Sean Foran for playing so beautifully on this track. We just released this as a (jazz) single on Earshift Music. It's a pleasure hearing my composition come to life with these lovely musicians and to see the nice cover art by Sai Karlen
One of Australia's greatest silent films has been digitally restored and composer Paul Mac has written a new score which will be performed by a live band to the screening at the amazing Westpac Openair Cinema. I'm looking forward to playing baritone sax for this very cool project.
I'm excited to be the Musical Director for Dance Beneath the Stars at the Home of The Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast. This will be a super fun show with the Everybody Now team and the awesome Hot Potato Band from Sydney with plenty of amazing dancers.
